'Start-up India', a flagship initiative of the Government of India, was launched on 16th January 2016. It is intended to build a strong eco-system for nurturing innovation and Start-ups in the country that will drive sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities.
In line with GOI’s initiative, Oil India Limited has set up a Start-up Fund for extending technical and financial support to the Start-ups to grow through innovation. Already 15 number of start-ups have received early-stage funding and incubation support through our partners IIT-Guwahati and IIT-Bhubaneswar. Additionally, some more startups are on the process of being onboarded.

The Programme
The programme 'SNEH'(Start-Up Nurturing, Enabling & Handholding) shall support Start-up(s) under any one or more of the following stages:
- Ideation: Idea to Proof of Concept, i.e., Ideation to Validation
- Early Traction: Proof of Concept to Commercialization
- Scale-up: Scale up of operations for already commercialized Startup(s)
Eligibility
Eligibility
- Startup(s) must be recognized by DPIIT.
- Startup(s) must have a business idea to develop a product or a service with market fit, viable commercialization, and scope of scaling.
- Startup(s) should be using technology in its core product or service, or business model, or distribution model, or methodology to solve the problem being targeted.
- Shareholding by Indian promoters in the Startup(s) should be at least 51% as per Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI (ICDR) Regulations, 2018 at the time of application to OIL
Following nature of Startup(s) shall not be supported by OIL:
- Products or services or processes which do not have potential for commercialization.
- Proposals with no plan to convert ideas into saleable (implementable) technology / products / services.
- Proposals with no element of novelty or innovation.
- PhD student research or any other academic research.
- Proposals which are of pure R&D in nature with no potential for commercialization.
- Proposals with serious Ethical and Environmental Health and Safety risks deemed unfeasible by experts.
Note: Any false declaration made by the Applicant shall lead to disqualification during the course of selection or at any point of time thereafter. OIL shall stop further funding to the Startup(s). The said Startup(s) and its associates shall be debarred from further participation. This may also invite legal actions.
Facilities to be provided to Start-up.

Facilities to be provided and will be guided as per terms and conditions of the Tripartite agreement signed between OIL, Start-up & Incubation Centre.
Generally, selected start-up will be able to avail the following facilities/amenities at the incubation centre
- Working Space at incubation centre.
- Internet, electricity, and drinking water.
- Laboratory and Workshop facilities
- Library Facilities
- Mentoring support
Terms for Funding and Duration
Duration -
Duration of support to Start-up as will be at the discretion of OIL and will be guided by tripartite agreement between OIL, Incubation center & Start-up
Procedure for application & onboarding
Procedure for application
Applications will be received through online portal. Applications and relevant documents need to be uploaded on portal only. Applications received in physical form, through e-mail or any mode other than online portal shall be summarily rejected. The portal will be hosted by OIL or OIL appointed incubation centre or OIL appointed third-party. There shall be no application fee for any Startup(s) application.
Shortlisted applicants shall be invited for making techno-commercial presentation/one-to-one interaction either in person or through video conferencing.
On-Boarding
OIL will sign tripartite agreement(s) or Joint Incubation & Investment Programme Agreement(s)(JIIPA) with Incubation Centre(s) and Startups(s) in case where incubation is required for the startup(s).

The portal shall be available from 16th August 2025 for submission of startup application for the next batch

The online application portal shall remain open for submission of applications throughout the year. However, applications will be processed by OIL on half yearly basis only.
