MTDC complex at OIL-FHQ Duliajan houses the HR Learning Department which was established as Training & Development Department in 1984 after getting approval in the 225th board meeting of the company in August 1984. The basic purpose of establishment of this department was to integrate the skill, competency, knowledge and attitude of each and every employee of the Company, so that it can contribute effectively towards the achievement of organization goal. Over the years, the role of training and development dept. transformed from a basic skill upgradation centre to continuous learning and development of Human Resource and was re-christened as ‘Learning and Development Department’ on 10th April 2013.
This was followed by the re-structuring of various departments of Human resources into five different HR verticals with “Learning & Development” department becoming HR-Learning department on 01/06/2021.
HR Learning Department has taken great stride in its business performance that can be attributed to the continuous comprehensive adaptation to the global scenario focused on the Vision of the company with its values that proudly resonate legacy, integrity, sustainability, knowledge and commitment.
HR Learning Dept. has five different institutes/centres which cater to almost all learning needs of the company.
- Management Training and Development Centre (MTDC) Caters learning needs of the Executives.
- Employees Training and Development Centre (ETDC) Caters learning needs of the Work-persons.
- Group Vocational Training Centre (GVTC): A DGMS recognised Statutory training centre which caters to statutory training needs of Work-persons/ Contractual Workers as regulated by DGMS, OISD and other regulatory bodies.
- Institute of Well Control Technology (IWCT): Affiliated to IWCF since 21/06/2012 as a primary centre for conducting Well Intervention Pressure Control and Drilling Well Control courses, the institute cater to mandatory training and certification on Rotary drilling and Well control courses as regulated by the International Well Control Forum.
- OIL First-Aid training Centre The latest addition of yet another training centre, OIL’s own First –Aid Training Centre approved by DGMS cum Chief Inspector of Mines vide approval no. DGMS/OH(HQ)/First Aid/01/2024/01/05 dated February 15, 2024, to impart and issue certificate of First-Aid training. It is the second centre/institute in the entire North- East apart from St. John Ambulance to be recognized by DGMS for first-Aid Training.
